Diviner's hammer (Mali)

In stock

€195.00

Quick Overview

According to the seller, this object comes from Koundou, a village in the Dogon cliffs of Mali. It was used by the hogon, the community's spiritual leader. We believe it is a diviner's hammer, similar to those found among the Baule people of Ivory Coast, used to strike a bronze bell whose sound attracts spirits. It is a magnificent and rare object.
