Brass beads are made, mainly in Ghana and Ivory Coast, according to the ancestral technique of lost wax casting. The bead is first modeled in wax, then wrapped in a layer of clay. It is dry and harden in the sun. Then it is simply heatened up for the wax to flow out and to replace it by molten metal. The mold is then broken and the object appears. It is cleaned and polished and we have in the palm of the hand a unique piece.
